{dylan's recipes: pasta bolognese}

Like Dyl's new banner? :)

Today she prepared an easy, delicious recipe for the blog. It's so simple, it's almost silly to consider it a full recipe. But sometimes meals don't seem as simple as they really are. This is a prime example!

FYI: No video today. We filmed one, but it was sort of pointless :)

Dylan will take it away...

Pasta Bolognese

This recipe was inspired by my semester in Roma! It's one of my favorite meals to make & it SO easy.

Ingredients:
  • 1 box of pasta
  • Tomato/Marinara sauce {can or homemade}
  • 1lb of ground beef {we used 90% lean}
  • Fresh mozzarella

{Note: While you're cooking the bolonese, boil water & cook your pasta simultaneously.}

Step 1: Cook the ground beef in a skillet until brown.

Step 2: While the meat is cooking, heat the sauce in a large pot. Keep the temp on medium-low.

Step 3: Once the meat is completely brown & cooked, pour it into the sauce. Stir & let it simmer for a few minutes on low heat. I used tomato sauce that had lots of flavor and herbs already in it, but you can always add fresh basil or oregano if you want to!

Step 4: Grate {or dice} fresh mozzarella.

Step 5: Plate & enjoy! This can be paired with any type of pasta....spaghetti is my top choice.  Again, a very simple recipe that doesn't involve a lot of time or ingredients! If you make a lot of bolognese, you can always freeze some and used it for later.  Also, this sauce would be DELISH as a replacement for the sauce in the mini lasagnes we did last week!

How AMAZING does that look??  It was so good!

Thanks Dylan for another delicious recipe! :)
