{fashion friday: spotlight on c.wonder}

For today's Fashion Friday, I'm spotlighting C.Wonder, a new store created by Chris Burch {ex-husband of Tory Burch}.

I was able to visit the only West Coast location {Fashion Island} while I was in California & I was overwhelmed by everything they make.

A friend once told me that I dress very preppy. I both agree & disagree with that statement. I think if you shop at J.Crew, you have a little bit of prep' in ya :)  & a lot of my clothes come from there. But it's a muted preppy.

C.Wonder is preppy to the MAX, so I can only take it in very small doses.  It's also pretty expensive. But it's colorful, feminine, & flirty. & they make everything!

Here are my favorite picks from their site:

Zebra iPhone Case...simple, but cute.

Contrast Sweater Dress...I love the booties with it!

Suede Signature Driving Moccasins...perfect color for fall!

Skinny Stretch Cord...cords are my fall staple.

Classic Belted Camel Coat...my favorite on the whole site!

You can visit their site here.  Are you a fan?

A fashion do & a fashion don't.

Tights + cord skirt + booties = yes.
Running shorts + high socks + moccasins = NO.

{fashion friday}

I'm switching things up this week.

My lovely sister Dylan got me hooked on yet another show.  She became obsessed with Revenge last week, & after listening to her talk about it all weekend I finally gave in. The first season is on Netflix, so I queued it up & pressed play.

Now I'm obsessed!  Good god.  I'm half-way through the season & I can't wait to see the rest. Although I'm not looking forward to catching up to the episodes airing now, because then I'll have to wait a week between episodes ;)

Dylan & I chatted about the fashion on the show...specifically for the main character, Emily. Um.

We both want her clothes. & her face. & her house.  We basically want to be her.  'Cause she's pretty
bad-ass.

Here's some of the looks Emily {blondie} & the other characters rock...

Ashley:

Charlotte:

Emily:

Lots of tailored dresses & beachy outfits. One second the characters are in bathing suits, & the next they're all dolled up for a formal charity event. Everyone has a different style, but overall, it's pretty preppy since it takes place in the Hamptons. & they're all filthy rich, so every outfit is expensive & a designer brand.

The one color that is worn a LOT is red... Revenge, anyone?

You should all watch. I'll happily take the blame if you get addicted.

Two outfits from my week:

As you're reading this, I'm on a flight home! I'm so excited I can barely stand it.

I'll be doing some photography work during the day today for a company website & then I'm off to a wedding later tonight. My cousin is getting married. I'm excited to get all dressed up :)

Tomorrow I'm flying back to Boston {ugh, such a short trip}, but Dylan & her roommate are coming! They'll be here until Tuesday, so I have lots planned.  Photos {& maybe a video} to come...

Happy Weekend!

I've been taking pictures of my feet lately. Apologies to my Instagram followers.  But since this is a fashion post...

1) My fall boots made an appearance yesterday. First time in eight months. It felt good to wear 'em again. {Ralph Lauren, from DSW}
2) GAP Outlet shoes. They came in navy & pink & I'm still kicking myself for not buying them in every color.
3) I forgot to bring my rainboots back to school :(  So my Burberry rain shoes are getting lots of game time this fall.
4) My family members have some pretty kick-ass jobs. For example, my uncle works at Converse. Which is owned by Nike. Which also owns Cole Haan. Therefore...the only reason why I would own Cole Haan cheetah flats. Love.

Outfits from my first two weeks.

I have a fun few days ahead that I'll post about on Monday.

Can anyone guess what's coming in the mail today?!?!?!? :) :) If you hear someone screaming with joy, that's me.

Happy Weekend!!

{fashion friday: white jeans}

It's been a while since we've done Fashion Friday :)

I've been searching & searching & searching for white jeans for a few years now. I finally found them last weekend!!

Now, just to preface, I NEVER spend this much money on jeans...normally. But I made an exception this time.

Adriano Goldschmied Stilt Roll-Up Jeans:

I loooove them!

Since it's almost late July (um, when did that happen?}, I hesitated buying them. I'm one of those people who follows the "no white after Labor Day" rule. That's mainly because during the fall & winter, the weather is quite cold where I live & white pants look a little odd. But since I'm headed to Los Angeles in January, I knew I'd be getting a lot of wear out of them.

& when I tried them on, they looked pretty good...so there's that ;)

White jeans are so versatile. You can wear them with a comfy fall sweater:

Or the opposite...with just a tee. {Love the white + grey combo!}

With a blouse or button-up:

Heels & yellow:

Anything!

I usually get buyers remorse after I spend that much on one piece of clothing...but I'm totally happy with this purchase. I can't wait to dress them up or go casual!

So this was a style tip & fashion find all wrapped up in one :)

White jeans are WAY "in" right now...go get some!

Here are 3 outfits {including the white jeans!}:

Happy weekend!

{fashion friday | color bug review}

This week's Fashion Friday is a product review, style tip, & fab find all wrapped up in one post. Get excited.

Remember how I mentioned in this post that I have an obsession with pink streaks? Well, I did it.

My favorite hair products are those by Kevin Murphy, an Australian company known for their professional salon line. I love their shampoos & texture for beachy waves. But I think I love this best of all:

The Color Bug: colored hair shadow. Pink, orange, or purple.

I was SO excited to try this out last week when my mom brought it home for me. She knew I had been eyeing it, & surprised me with one. Love.

In fact, I was so excited that I dropped it on the floor. & when I took the cap off & brought it up to my hair, I realized too late that it had shattered. All the chalk came out & spilled in my hands & on the floor  :(  My sister was not amused when she had to help me clean up the mess. So tip: don't drop it!

I had to order a new one, but once it arrived, it was showtime.

The Color Bug is basically hair chalk that is permanent until you shower. It's very easy to apply...just take a portion of your hair & rub the chalk against it.

{My pony-tail looks super wavy in these photos because it was twirled in a bun all day.}

& to further prove the pink, two less-saturated photos:

{i sent this photo to my mom & she said, "that's blog-worthy." so here it is.}

LOVE!

Like I said in the previous post, hair color is SO.NOT.ME.  99% of the time, I am not a fan. But there's something about a little pop of pink that has me hooked.

What are your thoughts? I sort of want to try the purple...

You can order the Color Bug on Amazon, but the best place is at a hair salon that uses Kevin Murphy products. Once you try his stuff, there's no going back :)

{no outfits this week since I got lazy & didn't capture them}

Happy Weekend!

{fashion friday}

Let's talk about wedges!

They are my favorite types of shoes to wear in the summer...especially to work. DSW is my favorite place for shoes, & my sister & I have found some really great pairs recently. I thought I would share them :)

Red bow shoes online {here}
Nude ones are probably still in-store {Guess brand}

Orange suede from {here}
Black ones are probably still in-store {Nine West}

And guess what?? They're all on sale!!  My total was supposed to be over $150, but I only spent $80 :)

I'd also like to point out that we were supposed to work-out yesterday, but I was so tired. I suggested shoe shopping instead, & Dylan grudgingly agreed...until she saw the shoe selection. This deal was way better than working-out on a Friday! ;)

Are you a fan of wedges? Where do you get your favorites? Please tell me!

Here's three outfits from my week.

Happy Weekend!

Happy Friday!

Today I'm going to talk about my favorite accessories from this week. Just some small things that made an outfit go from just okay to fab.

Colorful Purse
I'll admit--I'm a black/brown/grey purse girl. I just like bags that can go with every outfit.

But I think I changed my mind. I loved the bag my mom used this past weekend. Totally chic. I found it to be an unexpected choice at first, but it looked really awesome with her outfit. I loved the double stripes look :) {It's no secret that I love stripes!}

{purse}
Here's another...how fabulous is this bag?? It's so colorful!  It reminds me of the Bauhaus movement. Want.

Straw Fedora
My sister & I both bought this fedora last year, but she seems to pull it off way better than I can. Fedora + Ray Bans = good combo.

{fedora}
Okay, so this price is TOTALLY insane, but I'm head over heels in love with this fedora. I adore the rope detail.

Polka Dot Sunglasses
I got these in NYC last weekend at a new store called Story. The concept is really unique, {the "story" changes every few weeks--the current story is color} & I can't wait to go back! These sunnies just make me smile :)

The brand is not on my sunglasses, otherwise I would link you, but I did find this other pair below. Mint green is totally "in" right now!

As always, three outfits from this week!

What are your current favorite accessories? Tell me!

I have a shortened workday today, thanks to the Memorial Day weekend, & Monday off ;) I'm headed to the beach. Hopefully the weather is nice! Do you have any fun plans?

Have a lively day!
