{happy friday}

Hey everybody! How was your week? It's been so sunny in San Francisco & it's put me in the best mood!  {Well, except last night when it rained.} Temps are supposed to be in the 70s this weekend, so I'm excited to spend some time outside. Hope you all had a good one.

Have a great weekend & enjoy these Friday links...

{nopalito}

Nopalito! How did I not know about you?

This restaurant is a ten minute walk from my apartment, has divine Mexican food, & the menu is almost completely gluten free. Three wins in my book.

Let's start with the drinks---their cocktail menu looked really fun. And that's coming from a girl who doesn't drink! My friend took a chance on the Mexcal Paloma {a smokey, grapefruit drink} & the girls sitting next to us were raving about the Margaritas. I, on the other hand, was very satisfied with my strawberry lemonade. It tasted so fresh I could've been sipping a straw sticking out of a strawberry.

For our appetizer, we ordered the Totopos con Chile. If you go, you MUST order these. They taste like upscale Doritos. I am not kidding.

^^Totopos con Chile...look at all the cheese!

My roommate got the Enchiladas for her entrĂ©e, which were great! A little too chocolatey than what I usually like, but honestly, that shredded chicken could turn any dish from okay to fab.

^^Enchiladas de Mole con Pollo

I went a little outside what I would normally order & got the Tamal de Birria con Pollo. I didn't know what I was in for...especially when it arrived in a corn husk! But once I dug in, I was so happy with my choice. It's the most tender, perfectly-seasoned shredded chicken wrapped in corn dough. It had a kick to it too, & for $6.50, you just can't beat it.

^^Tamal de Birria con Pollo...amazing!

^^Bi-Rite Creamery was on the way home :)

If you're in SF, go to Nopalita! They have two locations & I guarantee you'll have a great meal. Check out the rest of their menu here.

{say hello to thinx}

Today I'm happy to announce a new affiliate of Lively Liv...Thinx

I am SO in love with Thinx. They are a stellar company that has great products, passionate employees, & a wonderful, important mission.

The mission of Thinx is clear: Change your underwear. Change the world.

Listen to this fact:

Over 67 million girls in Africa and around the world are without BASIC sanitary needs. In it's absence, they are forced to use things like leaves, dirty rags, and plastic bags.

Can you imagine using a leaf instead of a pad? I can't. Thinx can't. So here's what they promise:

Not only are you helping girls in need {the most important part of this transaction}, but you're getting a pretty great product too. Thinx aren't just any pair of underwear. Each are made with unique technology that makes it moisture-wicking and stain and leak resistant, by using absorbent, layered, & anti-microbial fabric. Basically, if you're coming up on "that time of the month"...you don't need to wear panty-liners with Thinx. {Because we've all had those oh shit moments that lead to throwing away your fave underwear, am I right?

Too TMI?

Sorry boys.}

I was so excited when Thinx sent me two pairs to try out: the Luxe & the Cheeky.

{those photos are obviously from the website, because no one needs to see me in underwear,
& because my dad & coworkers read this blog}

I love both pairs. They're each amazingly comfortable &...I'll say it...pretty! The lace detailing makes them really easy on the eyes & prevents underwear lines---two important things when it comes to underwear. I also love that each are black, because I wear a lot of black in my day to day life.

Out of the two, the Cheeky is my favorite, since it's a little more low-rise than the Luxe, but both will be on my reg rotation. Thanks Thinx!

To top it off, Thinx is giving all you Lively Liv readers $5 off your order if you use the code livelyliv at checkout. Pretty sweet! That gives you no reason NOT to join the movement of Thinx & help girls who deserve everything you & I have. We are so fortunate. I can't live with the fact that the lack of sanitary products is stopping girls from attending school or contributing to their community. Let's help stop that.

Thank you Thinx!

**As an affiliate of Thinx, I get 10% of the proceeds from your order if you use the Lively Liv code, however everything I earn will go right back to Thinx.

{happy friday}

I just got back from a 24 hour work trip to LA. The studio we were at was---to my surprise---across the street from my college's new LA campus. I missed studying there by two semesters, so I was thrilled to finally see it in person! It is quite a spectacle on Sunset Blvd.

I had one of those "come to Jesus" moments as I walked up to it. I just passed the one year anniversary of my final class in college, & here I was standing in front of the very school...working for my dream agency...on a shoot!  Work is tough some days & living far from home & family gets old, but I'm so fortunate to be in the place where I am right now. I'm soaking up every moment.

I have a shortened list of Friday links today & some photos from the week. Enjoy!

A Sky Full of Stars.

How crazy is this?? Can you imagine seeing it happen in person?

This news story made me laugh. When my senior class did our prank we all said, "Well, it's not like they can punish ALL of us..." Goes to show you! {Well, we also didn't destroy property...}

This! ;)

^^I love changing the calendar each month

^^new hair...still not sold on it though

Have a lovely weekend.
