How was everyone's short week? Mine was lovely but cold! I miss the warm weather we had a few weeks ago. Work is about to pick up though, so I savored the slower, cozier days :) :)

I spent last weekend in Newport Beach & have lots of pictures to share. Hopefully I'll have something up on Monday, but below is a sneak peek of one of my favorite parts.

The Normal Heart was one of the most heart-wrenching films I've seen in quite some time. Not only was the acting superb, but the authenticity of AIDs and its affect during those years was just devastating. If you have HBO, please watch. You won't regret it.

I can't end a post without some Coldplay, right? This song "O" is my new favorite. I MAY have gone to Guitar Center last weekend to "look at keyboards to buy", but actually just really wanted to sit down & play this song. Ha.

I went to my first Giants game on Tuesday! It was 85 every day in San Francisco this week, which NEVER happens, so I was totally eating it up. You know what else I ate up? The most amazing gluten-free hot dog & bun at the game. MLB stadiums are always thinking of us celiacs & I am so grateful :)

{my favorite lipsticks}

I don't chat about makeup here on the blog a lot, mainly because I stick to the same thing everyday: mascara, spot concealer, eyeliner & blush. Nothing fancy. But recently I've started to wear a little bit of color on my lips just to crank up my look a little more. Lipstick not only dresses up an outfit, but it also instantly makes you feel much more put together, don't you think?

The problem with most lipsticks is that they wear off easily. I love wearing red, but I stress all day if it's rubbed off & left a rouge outline around my lips. On top of that, lipstick is usually very dry & leaves my chapped lips feeling anything but hydrated. Enter Revlon's COLORBURST Balm Stain. 

Oh yes, balm.

001 Honey

I've had this one the longest. It's ideal for work because it's not too bold, 

& subtlety brings in a little color. 

It's just the perfect shade of shimmery pink.

220 Showy

This is the only matte color I have, but I'm obsessed with it.

It's almost neon, which is crazier than what I normally go for, but sometimes
you need to go a little crazy.

I can't wait to wear an all black outfit & this color on my lips. So chic, no?

045 Romantic

The best part about this red is it stays on! 

Since it acts more like a balm, it's easily spreadable & never leaves a red outline. 

This is a great color for a day to night look, too. Trés romantique.

A few more perks? There are SO many shades; I really need to stock up on more. I love that they act like a giant crayon, which makes it easy to apply & last forever. Once you're running low, all you need to do is twist the bottom & voilà! more lipstick to spare.

They're sold at most pharmacies & makeup stores. I get mine at Walgreens, but I've also see them at Target too. Now go get some & pucker up!

Few disclaimers: One, Revlon didn't pay me to write this. It was all me. Although I'd be happy to, Revlon! Hint hint. I mean, can't you just see me alongside Emma Stone & Halle Berry? I can. But rookie alert: I DO still leave the price tags on...

And two, the lighting in these images makes my skin look like porcelain (except in that GIF above). I wish my skin looked this flawless, yet it sadly does not. Just wanted to point that out. Makeup helps though! ;)

Nopalito! How did I not know about you?

This restaurant is a ten minute walk from my apartment, has divine Mexican food, & the menu is almost completely gluten free. Three wins in my book.

Let's start with the drinks---their cocktail menu looked really fun. And that's coming from a girl who doesn't drink! My friend took a chance on the Mexcal Paloma {a smokey, grapefruit drink} & the girls sitting next to us were raving about the Margaritas. I, on the other hand, was very satisfied with my strawberry lemonade. It tasted so fresh I could've been sipping a straw sticking out of a strawberry.

For our appetizer, we ordered the Totopos con Chile. If you go, you MUST order these. They taste like upscale Doritos. I am not kidding.

My roommate got the Enchiladas for her entrée, which were great! A little too chocolatey than what I usually like, but honestly, that shredded chicken could turn any dish from okay to fab.

I went a little outside what I would normally order & got the Tamal de Birria con Pollo. I didn't know what I was in for...especially when it arrived in a corn husk! But once I dug in, I was so happy with my choice. It's the most tender, perfectly-seasoned shredded chicken wrapped in corn dough. It had a kick to it too, & for $6.50, you just can't beat it.

I just got back from a 24 hour work trip to LA. The studio we were at was---to my surprise---across the street from my college's new LA campus. I missed studying there by two semesters, so I was thrilled to finally see it in person! It is quite a spectacle on Sunset Blvd.

I had one of those "come to Jesus" moments as I walked up to it. I just passed the one year anniversary of my final class in college, & here I was standing in front of the very school...working for my dream agency...on a shoot!  Work is tough some days & living far from home & family gets old, but I'm so fortunate to be in the place where I am right now. I'm soaking up every moment.
